"Confrontation" Greening or Concreting space

Transparency Forum last night (08.26.2015) held third debate of the cycle "Confrontation" on the topic “Greening or concreting space” where in capacity of panel members were presented Mr. Njazi Kryeziu, director of the department of urbanism and spatial planning, Mr. Alush Shala, municipal assembly member in Prizren municipality, Mr. Haxhi Avdyli, local branch leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) in Prizren and Mr. Naim Cahani, KDI and member of the Transparency Forum. The debate was moderated by Qazim Morina, a journalist and member of the Transparency Forum.

The debate addressed the issue of green spaces within residential areas and with particular emphasis on space which is municipal own property –at the former Ben-Afi. So far policies on urban planning have not shown due diligence in the creation of green and recreation areas.

In this debate there were reflected the aims of the municipal executive for the treatment of public properties that can be designated as green space and views of civil society, media and political spectrum for such existing spaces.

The Panel had a confrontation with members of the Transparency Forum, representatives from environmental organizations and representatives of opposition political parties in Prizren.
