Role of Civil Society in Promotion of Cultural Heritage

Partnership project "Civil Society Engagement in community building through the understanding, development, management and preservation of the built cultural heritage of the Western Balkans CSEinHeritage" started to be implemented by the EU and Western Balkan NGOs (most of them members of the SEE Heritage network): Transilvania Trust from Romania (project leader), Europa Nostra Netherlands, Cultural Heritage without Borders from Sweden, EXPEDITIO from Montenegro, Europa Nostra Serbia, and Emancipimi Civil Ma Ndryshe from Kosovo.

Overall objective of the project is to strengthen the role of Civil Society/Cultural operators in raising awareness of the value (social, economic, educational, cultural) of the built cultural heritage in society building and community development. The Project is supported by the European Commission - DG Enlargement programme under the IPA 2009 - Civil Society Facility - Multi-beneficiary Programmes "Support to Partnership Actions between Cultural Organizations".

Project "Online Transparency of Prizren, Mamushë and Pristina municipalities" from September 2012, is financially supported by the British Embassy in Pristina. In the first phase for six months (March-August 2012) the project was supported by the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS)
